Like the Phoenix rising out of the ashes, Ignite Columbus 4 is finally on. It’s on baby.

Ignite Columbus 4 is on its way and will be here before ya know it! Right now it appears the best place to get in on the action and talk regarding Central Ohio’s 4th Ignite Event is on our Facebook Fan page. GO there now, express your insights!

Ignite Columbus 4 will follow TechColumbus’ First Thursday mixer and will start at approximately 6:30. But be sure to come early and enjoy the TechColumbus mixer for some free beer and most likely pizza!

We need speakers! Our speaker list is coming together but as always we strive to hear new voices at Ignite. We’ll of course make room for veteran speakers if no new folks want to talk.

The Rules

Ahhh yes the rules.

First Rule of Ignite Club.. you DO talk about Ignite Club.

Actually our rules are pretty simple.

20 slides
15 seconds a slide
5 minute presentation
no pitches
no sales gimmicks
no lameness (unless its a theory on actionable compound lame analysis)
be civil until you get to the parking lot
and that’s about it…

Obviously we’d like to strive away from topics covered in previous Ignite’s like: Get to Know Your RSS, Social Media for Dummies, Control Twitter with Your Mind, Startup Biz 123 its That Simple, and so on.

Think FRESH…

Hey I’m just saying, people of Columbus have heard most of that stuff before, let’s dish up some new stories. So speakers, yee are challenged. Impress us with a tasty new talk!!

Ignite Columbus 3 is tomorrow

Well, a day away and it looks like things are jelling to make for another great Ignite Columbus.

Speakers? Check.

Sponsors? Check. Sandbox Columbus and ELEVATE thinking are brining in food from Z Pizza. Avitae Energy Water, which is a sponsor of PodCamp Ohio will be providing their caffinated water.

After Party? Check. We’ll be heading to Park Street Patio after Ignite. Park Street has generously provided us two cabanas from 9 – 10 pm, beer and pizza (limited quatity). You’ll definitely want to come and continue the conversation and talk about the talks.

Audience? Check. Thanks to those who have registered. And to those that haven’t yet, what are you waiting for. Look at all the stuff we’re providing. And the ticket is free.

We say we’ll open the doors at 6 PM. But make sure to come early so you can mingle and meet people. Also, remember the 315 construction. I have no idea what it’s like, so you’ll definitely want to account for plan for the delay.

I apoligize to all for not getting this list out earlier, but here’s the list of speakers talking at Ignite Columbus 3. But before I list them, I want to thak everyone that submitted a topic. Due to time constraints, we had to limit the number of speakers for this event, but I think that will make for a better experience for everyone in attendance since it will give people an opportunity to mingle more. Ignite Columbus 3 is Friday, June 19

Hooray! Your local Ignite organizers finally got off their butts and scheduled Ignite Columbus 3. Actually, we were prodded by the good folks organizing PodCamp Ohio. Thus, we’ll be doing Ignite the night before PodCamp Ohio.

It will be Friday, June 19 from 6-8 at The Ohio State University Mendenhall Labatory.

For Ignite Columbus 3, we’ll be limiting the number of talks to 8-10, and are asking people to “vote” on what they want to hear.

Don’t worry. It won’t be a popularity contest. We’ll use the votes as a guideline and will use our best judgment, with the help of some trusted and outspoken friends, to pick interesting talks.

So pitch something interesting.
